Taika Waititi hit most people's radars when he directed Thor: Ragnarok, but his star continued to rise with 'JoJo Rabbit' and the television version of 'What We Do In The Shadows'. His latest endeavor is a series on HBOMax called "Our Flag Means Death" and it is just as brilliant as everything else he's done. The show tells the story of Stede Bonnett. An actual real person who left his life of luxury to become a pirate and eventually became known as The Gentleman Pirate.  Stede is played by Rhys Darby, and there are several familiar faces rounding out the cast. Stede's band of lovable misfit pirates, and Waititi's very different take on Blackbeard make this show a very fun watch and is even heartwarming at times. Here's to hoping for more seasons!
