Leaked GTA 6 Details
Recently, a few details have been leaking on Reddit regarding the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6. All of the details have come from an unverified source who has now deleted the post, so take everything with a grain of salt. But, if the rumors are true, this game is going to be absolutely incredible.
Many fans may be wondering how the game will feel compared to previous GTAs and Rockstar’s latest release, Red Dead Redemption 2. And the answer is somewhere in between the two. According to the leaks, GTA 6 will have a more realistic feel than previous versions, but less realistic than Red Dead. Like RDR2, you will not be able to carry your entire arsenal with you at all times. You will have to decide which weapons you want on your body, and your car will serve as your locker for all of your weaponry and armor. The game will unfold in chapters similar to Red Dead as well.
As far as the story goes, several leaks indicate that you will play a male protagonist who starts off as a low-level drug mule and work your way through the ranks to become the kingpin. It is said that the story is heavily based on the Netflix series Narcos. The newest leak suggests that the game will take place in the 70s and 80s and you will travel between Vice City and a new South America-inspired location, supposedly based on Rio de Janeiro. As your progress through the game and through the timeline, the world around you will change as well. Cars from the ‘70s will gradually be replaced by newer ‘80s models, making the classics more expensive. Buildings will also change based on the time period.
The question on everyone’s mind is when will GTA 6 be available. According to the leak, GTA 6 will only be available for next-gen systems, i.e.PS5 and Project Scarlett. The game has been in development since 2012, but only became Rockstar’s primary focus after Red Dead Redemption 2 was released last year. Early reports suggest the game won’t be available until 2021 at the earliest, but based on the time the company spent on RDR2 and how they continued to push it’s release back, it could be as late as 2023 before we see the new GTA.
One other note mentioned in the leak is that Rockstar does have another game in development alongside GTA 6 which many are speculating is the long-awaited Bully 2.
